UPEC 2008
43rd International Universities Power Engineering Conference Jointly organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Padova, and the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Cassino.
The conference will be hosted by the University of Padova, Italy and will take place from 1 to 4 September, 2008.

During the Closing Ceremony three Prizes have been awarded. ERA Technology (UK) awarded the prize for the Best Paper, BCP (Switzeland) awarded the prize for the Best Poster presentation, and UPEC2008 Conference Organizers awarded the prize for the Best Oral Presentation by a Young Engineer under the age of 30. On Monday 1st september, in association with the UPEC2008 Conference, a tutorial on "Philosophies and technologies for future distribution networks" has been run within the framework of the Italian School of Doctorate on Power Systems “Bruno Delfino”. Note that on monday afternoon between 14:30 and 17:00, before the opening session, there will be guided visits to the old university building and to the nearby Scrovegni Chapel with the famous Giotto's paintings.

UPEC2008 Organising Committee has extended the early registration deadline to 20th July, which is now passed.
So far more than 170 delegates have registered and residential accommodation will be given on a firt-come-first-served basis until complete occupation of all available rooms (there are still few rooms available).
Late registrations will have to be of non-residential type (hotel accommodation).

UPEC2008 Organising Committee has received numerous requests for the prolongation of final paper upload deadline and decided to extend it to 20 June, 2008, which is just passed.
Authors who still have to submit the full paper are kindly asked to do it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE , following the paper submission instructions. The website uploading page and the IEEE eXpress service will be active till the end of June.
For each paper, formal acceptance mail will be sent by the end of June.
