Invitation

It is a great pleasure to invite you to take part in the 43rd International Universities Power Engineering Conference (UPEC2008), which will be jointly organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Padova, and the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Cassino. The conference will be hosted by the University of Padova, Italy and will take place from 1 to 4 September, 2008.

The aim of the conference is to provide a professional forum for engineers and research scientists from  universities and industries and the opportunity to present their work describing new trends and recent developments as well as current practices in Power Engineering. In line with previous UPEC conferences  contributions from young academics and research students are particularly encouraged. The conference will take place over four days and include a number of technical and cultural visits. It will be co-sponsored by IEEE, IET, CIGRE and AEIT.
 
We also hope the conference will be an enjoyable experience for all participants. Padova is a beautiful city located in Italy’s North-East. Its University is the second oldest in Italy, and probably in the world (2008 will be the 786th academic year of the University of Padova).  Of the many important scholars who studied and taught here, the most famous is probably Galileo Galilei, whose chair can be found at the Palazzo del Bo, the old heart of the University.
